Louise Bessette and Esprit Orchestra
On Sunday, November 26th, 2006, at 8pm, at the St. Lawrence Centre, Toronto, pianist Louise Bessette and Esprit Orchestra, conducted by Alex Pauk, will perform La forêt des clameurs, concerto for piano and strings, by Montreal composer Serge Arcuri. The four movement work (I- La forêt des clameurs, II- ...des souvenirs, III- ...des sortileges, IV- ..des songes) was commissioned by Louise Bessette and I Musici de Montreal, and was made possible thanks to a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts. The piece is dedicated to Louise Bessette, and was premiered in Montreal on October 25, 2006, with Orchestra I Musici de Montreal conducted by Yuli Turovsky (broadcast on Monday, November 20, 2006, 8 PM).
Esprit Orchestra will also perform works by Sophia Gubaidulina and Brian Current for this special event called "Sophia Plus".
