The pianist Louise Bessette will be giving a masterclass at the Canadian
Cultural Centre on February 2nd at 10 am. The program will include works by
Brahms, Debussy, Dutilleux and Ravel. The Canadian Cultural Centre was
established in Paris in 1970 by Canada's Department of External Affairs to

Louise Bessette will be a member of the jury at the 7th Concours
International de Piano XXe siècle d'Orléans (France). In addition to the
President, Alicia Terzian (Argentina), Diane Andersen (Belgium), Michel Decoust
(France), Bruce Brubacker (U.S.A.), Yonty Solomon (England), and Li Qing Yang
(China) will also take part in the jury.
The 2006 edition will be held from January 30 to February 7, 2006. Forty-odd
candidates from around the world are participating in the competition. The piece
Série noire (for piano and electronics), by composer Pierre Jodlowski,
was commissioned by the 7th Concours International d'Orléans and will be
premiered at the Finals on February 7.
